Hey everyone,

I feel like I’ve been pretty M.I.A. (sorry about that!), but I want to briefly explain what’s going on.

Basically when I took that break I started on a new project, and it basically takes up the majority of my time right now. I’m really excited about it, and I’m so lucky to be surrounded by people who are just as excited.

I will get back into mixing drinks soon, but as long as this project is unfinished I can’t even really think about drinks right now to be honest. This first phase of the project should be finished within a week or so, and I should have more time after that, but I still can’t really guarantee anything till about August.

So I’ll keep you all updated, and by August Adult Rushers Anonymous should be back and swingin’ :)

Summer Time = Vacation Time

Hey everyone!

As you all know it’s summer, which means school’s out, people are out, and it’s about to get crazy… So for a little over a month (Now-June 18), Adult Rushers Anonymous will be on break. I’m currently moving to a new place for just a month (then I’m moving back to the old one again…don’t ask.) I will also be venturing on two vacations between now and then. So all in all, it just makes sense to take a small break.

But do not fear, I will be back with more pop culture mixology after June 18th! Until then, browse my many pages of pop culture themed cocktails.

This tweet asks a question I have commonly asked myself. Maybe my friends have bad taste. Maybe they’re jealous. Regardless, why does he gotta get with my friends? This cocktail is bubbly and fun with a sultry dash of spice. 

Gotta Get With My Friends Cocktail
3 oz Tonic Water
1 oz Raspberry Liqueur
1 oz Hendrick’s Gin
2/3 oz Grenadine
1/2 oz Ginger Syrup 

Combine ingredients in a mixer with ice, shake and pour into a glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Spice Girls Week: Spice World

Always a classic. And really, do I need to say more? If you’re a 90s Kid and haven’t seen this movie, well, I just feel sorry for you. Chupa Chups, the bus, the montages, the music…it really doesn’t get any better. This cocktail is sweet, cheeky and a little dirty. 

Spice World Cocktail
4 oz Lorina French Berry Lemonade 
1 oz Vodka
3/4 oz Strawberry Liqueur
Splash of Cream  

Combine ingredients in a mixer with ice, shake, and pour over ice into a glass.

Spice Girls Week: 90s Kids Music - “Say You’ll Be There”

Oh this song, and oh this video… I basically wanted to wear exactly what Baby Spice was wearing. In fact, I’m pretty sure I have a child’s pair of blue velvet gloves somewhere. This cocktail is sour like a relationship getting out of hand, but sweet for all the fun times with a dash of X Rated behavior. 

Say You’ll Be There Cocktail
3 oz Izze Sparkling Clementine
1 oz Raspberry Vodka
1 oz X Rated Liqueur
1 TSP Lemon Juice 

Combine ingredients and ice in a mixer. Shake and pour over ice into a glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Alright, I have some unfortunate news, cocktail lovers.

This week is the oh-so-awesome Spice Girls week here at Adult Rushers Anonymous. However, this is the week before finals…which is always the most hectic week for me. Long story short, I’m moving all the cocktails planned for this week to next week. So while this week was supposed to be Spice Girls week, let’s just pretend that never happened and Spice Girls week was next week all along ;)

90s Kids April: SNICK - The Secret World of Alex Mack

Alex Mack wears a hat… To be honest, that Snick commercial jingle still haunts me in my sleep. I see a hat, think “Alex Mack wears a hat,” and then remember Alex Mack doesn’t even air anymore. Nickelodeon, you are a bunch of marketing geniuses. This cocktail is part Alex Mack’s teenage confusion, her sweet personality and the top secret chemical GC-161. 

Alex Mack Cocktail
2 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz Sour Apple Pucker
1 oz Tonic Water
1/2 cup Peaches
A Dash of Angostura Bitters

Muddle peaches in vodka, strain into a mixer and add the other ingredients. Shake with ice and pour over ice into a sugar rimmed glass.

@90sGirlProblems Thursdays: I like Backstreet Boys. My friend likes N*Sync. Scratch that. We’re no longer friends. 

Chances are if you’re a 90s girl, you either loved BSB or N*Sync. Never both. I fell into the latter category. I hated BSB. I always felt like they were trying to steal N*Sync’s thunder. But regardless of your side, you’ll love this cocktail. It’s all sweet and sour, mimicking the relationship you shared with your BSB or N*Sync rivals. Hey, we’re all boy band lovers here! 

N*Sync VS. Backstreet Boys Cocktail
2 oz Blood Orange Soda
1 oz Tonic Water
1 oz Vodka
1/4 Cup Pineapple Chunks
1/2 oz Pucker Sour Apple 
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters 

Muddle pineapple in vodka. Strain into a mixer and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake with ice. Pour over ice into a glass and garnish with pineapple.

90s Kids April: 90s Kids Movies - My Girl

I watched this movie about 50 times as a child. I wanted to be Vada, and I’m pretty sure it was the first movie I sobbed for. (“He can’t see without his glasses…” I mean, come on, if you didn’t cry at that scene, you have no soul.) This cocktail is sweet and charming, but a taste of bitter growing pains.  

My Girl Cocktail
3 oz Lorina Pink Lemonade
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Grenadine
2/3 oz Strawberry Liqueur
2 Dashes of Bitters
Salt

Rim a glass with salt. Combine ingredients in a mixer with ice. Shake and pour over ice into the glass.

90s Kids April: 90s Kids Music - Nsync

I’ll never forget hearing “Tearin’ Up My Heart” at a dance in 4th grade. Every single girl screamed at the top of their lungs, congregated into a giant circle, and continued to scream for the enitirety of the song. Meanwhile, every guy in my class watched us in awe and confusion. This cocktail is a torn up heart, bitter and sweet, with a dash of mistakes and “I want you back.” 

Tearin’ Up My Heart Cocktail
3 oz Blood Orange Soda
1 oz Strawberry Liqueur
1 oz 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 oz X Rated Liqueur
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
White Pepper

Combine ingredients in a mixer with ice. Shake and pour over ice into a glass. Top off with fresh ground white pepper.
